When you're on the plane to Bhutan, don't forget to experience the beauty and grandeur of Everest from a high altitude through the window. After arriving in Paro, the Asia Expedition Tour’s (AET) Representative will be there to escort you to the hotel. Transfer to Thimphu by car/bus.
After breakfast, you will go to visit the National Memorial Chorten, built in memory of father of Modern Bhutan. Then, you will go to visit the weekend market (Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday) or drive to School of Arts and crafts, where you can learn about the local culture. After lunch, you will go to explore the Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley. In the evening, you will go to visit the Palace of Glorious religion, which holds office of the king and cabinet ministers.
Today, you will go the next destination, Punakha by crossing through Dochula pass. If weather permits, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. In the afternoon, you will go to visit the Chimi Lhakhang (temple of fertility), which is famous as many barren couples come to seek blessing for a child. After that, you will go to explore the Punakha dzong, which is also known as palace of Great Bliss/Happiness.
Today, you will go to Phobjikha valley, which is also known as valley of black necked crane. You will go to explore the Gangtey Gompa, the largest and the only monastery of the Nyingmapa sect in western Bhutan. After that, you will go to relax yourself in the Gangtey Natural Trail which is stretch of 4km/2.48miles. After hiking, you can relax and meditate in a small temple nearby.
Today, you will go to the next destination, Paro. When you arrive in Paro, you will hike up to 17 century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot by crossing the old traditional cantilever wooden bridge (Nymizampa) which is still in use today. Then, you will visit National Museum, the first of its kind which has a collection from natural history to religious paintings. After that, you can stroll around the town and buy some souvenirs you like.
Today, you will go to explore the Taktshang monastery, one of the most iconic monasteries in the country. The scenery on the road is beautiful. Don't forget to take some photos. Taktshang or Tiger’s Nest clings to a huge granite cliff hanging at 900m from the Paro vally. After that, you will go to visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in the country. In the evening, you can stroll around the town or try hot stone bath recommended by the tour guide.
This will be the last day of your tour. After breakfast, please pack your bags and wait in the lobby. The driver from AET will meet you at your hotel lobby at the appointed time and then transfer you to the airport.
