When you're on the plane to Bhutan, don't forget to experience the beauty and grandeur of Everest from a high altitude through the window. When you get to Paro, the guide and drive from AET will greet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel. After checking in, you will visit the National Memorial Chorten, which is built in the memory of the late 3rd King. After lunch, you will go to explore the Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley. In the evening, you will pay a visit to the Trashichhoe dzong, also known as Palace of Glorious religion.
After breakfast, you will visit the National Memorial Chorten, which is built in the memory of the late 3rd King. Then, you will go to visit the weekend market (Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday) or drive to School of Arts and crafts, where you can learn about the local culture. After lunch, you will go to explore the Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley. In the evening, you will pay a visit to the Trashichhoe dzong, also known as Palace of Glorious religion.
Today, you will go the next destination, Punakha by crossing through Dochula pass. If weather permits, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. In the afternoon, you will go to visit the Chimi Lhakhang (temple of fertility), which is famous as many barren couples come to seek blessing for a child. After that, you will go to explore the Punakha dzong, which is also known as palace of Great Bliss/Happiness.
Today, you will go to Phobjikha valley, which is also known as valley of black necked crane. You will go to explore the Gangtey Gompa, the largest and the only monastery of the Nyingmapa sect in western Bhutan. After that, you will go to relax yourself in the Gangtey Natural Trail which is stretch of 4km/2.48miles. After hiking, you can relax and meditate in a small temple nearby.
Today, you will go to explore the Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten, which took eight years to build and was consecrated during a three-day ceremony in December 1999. The Chorten is dedicated to the 5th King then crown prince and serves to protect the country, so it is stuffed with every form of protector deity. From there, you can see the beautiful Punakha Valley and the winding clear river.
Today, you will go to the next destination, Paro. You can choose to hike up to 17 century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot by crossing the old traditional cantilever wooden bridge. After that, you will go to visit National Museum, the first national museum to cover collection from natural history to religious painting. In the evening, you can visit the souvenir shop in the town.
Today, you will go to the next destination, the isolated valley of Haa. On a clear day, you can view the highest snowy mountain peak of Bhutan, Mt Jumolhari. Don't forget to take your camera with you and record the beautiful scenery here. Continue your drive to Haa valley, which recently opened to tourists. After lunch, you will visit the quite little town of Haa, where you can get close contact with local customs and culture.
Today, you will go to explore the Taktshang monastery, one of the most iconic monasteries in the country. The scenery on the road is beautiful. Don't forget to take some photos. Taktshang or Tiger’s Nest clings to a huge granite cliff hanging at 900m from the Paro vally. In the evening, you can stroll around the town or try hot stone bath recommended by the tour guide.
This will be the last day of your tour. After breakfast, please pack your bags and wait in the lobby. The driver from AET will meet you at your hotel lobby at the appointed time and then transfer you to the airport.
