When you get to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, the guide and drive from AET will greet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel. After checking in, you will visit the Gandan Monastery where you will see a huge gold-plated Buddha, the symbol of Mongolian national pride and cultural revival. And then, you will go to visit the Sukhbaatar Square, National Museum of Mongolia and the Zaisan Hill Memorial, where you can see the panoramic view of the whole city.
After breakfast, you will visit the Chinggis Khaan Statue, the biggest equestrian statue in the world. Then, you will take a private car to the Terelj national park, where you can visit the Temple of Ariyapala and enjoy a stunning view. At the same time, you can also explore the famous Turtle Rock and the extraordinary frock formations on horseback riding.
Today you will go to the next destination, the west side of UB. You will visit the Hustai national park, which is rich with wildlife and historical monuments. After that, you will go to the Ungut monuments, which is famous for its large number of man-like figures, sepultures and rectangular tombs. Today, you have a chance to get close to Takhi, The Przewalski horses. Takhi is the only true wild horse that once nearly went extinct in the wild. At the same time, you can also have close contact with some other wild animals and enjoy the unique beauty of Mongolian nature. At the end of the day, you can buy some presents at the souvenir shop and take them home.
Today, you will go to explore the Tarna Mountain. You will go to visit the real nomadic grassland. You will experience a day like a Mongolian nomad. You can visit a local horse breeder family, get involved in their daily life, take a class on milking livestocks and play ankle bone games. In the evening, you can make traditional Mongolian barbecue with your own hands under the guidance of the hostess, and then eat the delicious food made by your own hands.
Today, you will go to explore the Orkhon valley, a World Cultural Heritage Site. As the capital of the Great Mongolian Empire in the 13th century, Kharkhorin has many secrets about Genghis Khan. You will visit the famous Kharkhorin museum to uncover the history of Mongolia in the past. Then, you will visit the Magnificent Erdene Zuu, the oldest monastery in Mongolia.
After breakfast, you will take the private car to Ongi Temple ruins which was founded by a lama named Bari Yonzon and located on a small but panoramic cliff on a bank of Ongi river. There were a thousand lamas before the communists' destruction in 1937. On the way to the temple, you can also enjoy the beautiful Mongolian steppe along the way.
Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs is your destination today. Roy Chapman Andrews discovered the first dinosaur eggs here in 1922. Walking in this huge paleontological site, you will discover not only dinosaur’s but ancient human’s remains too. Khavtsgait petroglyphs and saxual forest are good additions to this trip. Take your camera and don't forget to take pictures of the beautiful scenery here.
Today, you will visit the Khongoryn els, the biggest sand dune in Mongolia. You can try to ride a camel to explore the dune area. The two-humped Bactrian camels are very comfortable to ride as they walk slowly and gently. You will be well supported by their soft, fluffy humps when you ride them. Our camel guide will lead you safely through the sand dunes to explore the Uujim valley on the camelback. After that, you will go to visit the local camel herdsman family to experience their lifestyle, culture and traditions.
Today, you will go to visit the Yolyn Am, or Lammergeier Valley, which is so high thus sunlight never reaches the floor. Even in summer time, the winter’s snow can be kept good. These areas are situated in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan, which is three beauties of the Gobi and the most easterly points of the Altai Mountains.
Today, you can go to some local shopping malls to buy some local specialties, such as cashmere products. Later in the evening, you will attend a live Mongolian traditional music and dance performance, which make you enjoy the most local culture.
Today, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport. After breakfast, please pack your bags and wait in the lobby. The driver from AET will meet you at your hotel lobby at the appointed time and then transfer you to the airport.
